GDH Consulting is seeking candidates with strong consulting skills for a WiFi Network Engineer position located in Charlotte, NC.


-Mostly store locations in Charlotte Metro Area.

-Occasional travel to other cities may be needed.

WiFi Network Engineer Skillset:

•        Predictive RF design & RF validation for large retail spaces, mapping AP layouts to meet the business and technical requirements. The designs are taking Hyperlocation as the main baseline.

•        AutoCAD basic skills to show AP placement representation

•        Candidate will work with client’s Field Services as well as 3rd party cabling vendors to finalize the AP layouts, BoM per store and make updates if needed during store walk-throughs prior to the migrations.

•        WLC configuration (Flexconnect Deployment, AP groups, RF Tuning using 8.5 code)

•        Understanding of gathering user data that will be used in analytics and automation

•        Understanding of specific AP product 3702 (indoor APs) and 1542i (outdoor APs) code version 8.5MR2 (Baseline code). The engineer should have bug scrub skills to identify potential caveats in upcoming releases.

•        Need to be Charlotte based, and be able to drive around to multiple locations around the metro area where the work will be performed

•        Store migrations are conducted during overnight change windows - the candidate must have the ability to conduct shift work as needed

•        DNA-C basic knowledge preferable as we will use PnP feature for AP provisioning in the short term as part of the automation process across the stores (~ 1,800 Stores).  Also, good with PI/CMX and Cisco software.
