Enterprise Platforms Manager

Job Description:
This position is responsible for the management of the projects, operations, people and technologies in the Enterprise Platforms applications team in the County of San Diego.

Current platforms include Documentum and Sharepoint, and will include other platforms such as Middleware.

Projects cover application solution development and enhancements, as well as platform upgrades.

Operations include support of the teams applications, managing incident tickets from clients and internal operations, and conducting and reporting root cause analysis on problems.

The Enterprise Platforms Manager:

• Provides application lifecycle expertise to the team for the support, monitoring, troubleshooting, change and enhancement of platforms or custom applications in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and established technical standards.

• Understands and uses the Service Management functions necessary to ensure service delivery compliance to budget, quality standards and committed service levels on an on-going basis following operational policies and processes, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices.

• Is accountable for application development and testing of programs in terms of cost, direction and people management. Applies subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business and technical issues within established policies.

• Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for the area of responsibility. Provides input to and/or manages service improvement programs regarding customer satisfaction and service delivery.

• Manages the technical/service relationships between the client and subcontractors/vendors, or among various company internal organizations. In conjunction with the Business Development team works with the key customers, and/or internal businesses/end user representatives to identify and plan for upcoming project demand.

• Manages both salaried and hourly individual contributors and team leads. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Plans, directs and monitors operational/tactical activities of the departments staff.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.

• May hold Master's or advanced degree in related field.

• Typically 8+ years of relevant experience.
