Job Description Storage engineers description and responsibilities: • Facilitate and lead the engineering and development for data storage solutions in support of NGEN Contract • Knowledge and experience in the Data Storage field to include Primary Storage, interconnecting devices and BUR (backup and delivery) • Knowledge and experience with NetApp DataONTAP OS 8.x OnCommand and SNAP Suites • On the job experience with NetApp FAS 6000 or 8000 series • Backup and recovery experience (Symantec/Veritas NetBackup and COMMVAULT) • Technical engineering document development experience • Provide input to develop storage strategies with the help of other information technology specialists • Ensure data storage design provides accessible, controlled and secured per requirements and organizational policies. • Follow strict privacy regulations to prevent data leaks by non-authorized personnel • Manage data certificates on NetApp Devices • Provide input for the design, process, and resource allocation management • Develop reports of data usage and metrics for storage solutions • Troubleshoot and test data storage features and capabilities to meet customer requirements • Design and implement solutions for data storage and maintenance • Upgrade software, apply patches, and ensure physical security of data associated with DOD STIG requirements. • Evaluate input and output for systems, as well as overall architecture, to recommend improvements. • Design disaster recovery plans and enforce backup and archival procedures (not sure about this this one, another team handles this but knowledge of it would be nice Symantec Enterprise Vault) A strong background in deployment, automation and configuration management in a Windows environment Work in DevOps environment Implement automation using Agile methodology PowerShell preferred scripting language.
Qualifications • Must be able to work locally in San Diego office. • 1-3 years of Technical document writing experience. • 3-5 years of software engineering. • 3-5 years of solution development. • Extensive experience with standard scripting languages and techniques (VBS, PowerShell) • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Microsoft client operating systems including Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and their use in global enterprise environments. • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office and other enterprise applications, including ownership, support and management in multi-language environments. • Experience with and knowledge of AD design and GPO management. • Understanding of application packaging and deployment technologies used in corporate environments including Windows Installer. • Exemplary communication, analytical skills, and technical knowledge across the client environment. • Ability to produce concise and clear technical documentation. • Results orientated and schedule driven. • CompTIA Security+
