Engineer, Information Systems, Security - Senior (Merrifield, VA)

Duties and Responsibilities: • Central Monitoring of 300 plus NAC system installations nationwide. • Verification of NAC appliance status, software backups, patch levels and releases • Liaison with NAC system vendor for technical and warranty support • Perform NAC system administration and network traffic/endpoint analysis. • Create, test and implement network security policies using Network Access Control System (NAC) tools to implement port block/host block actions. • Enforce endpoint compliance through comprehensive client provisioning measures and assessing device posture for all endpoints that access the network. • Provide custom reports for user groups. • Provide design and ongoing support of local area networks and wide area networks used in mail processing applications. • Configure routers and switches, with appropriate network communications protocols, and their implementation via network hardware and software. • Troubleshoot Layer 2/3 connectivity issues across the USPS network infrastructure. • Provide Tier 3 help desk support for resolving complex network problems involving multiple applications and organizations. 
Requirements: • Demonstrated experience with Network Access Control System tools, specifically ForeScout CounterAct. • Proven ability to create custom security policies and their implementation using Network Access Control System (NAC) tools. • Ability to perform NAC system administration and network traffic analysis. • Familiarity with all layers of OSI model and network communication protocols, ports and working knowledge of Cisco hardware. • Experience with Cisco Source Fire IDS/IPS module configuration and management a plus. • Experience with SPLUNK tools will be a plus. • Ability to configure routers and switches, with appropriate network communications protocols and their implementation via network hardware and software. • Familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating systems including basic administration, communications and networking configurations. • Experience with either windows or Linux based scripting languages. (Powershell/VBS or Python/Perl/Ruby/Bash) • Ability to create technical documentation for user groups. • Help Desk experience at Tier 3 level. • Proficiency with Office tools including Visio. • CCNA or better certification will be a plus. • Good verbal and written communications skills.
