Job Description

GDH Consulting is seeking candidates for a Network Engineer position to work remotely.

Required Skills:

General knowledge of troubleshooting Security across Cisco platforms
Minimum 2 years of Networking experience
Minimum 2 years working knowledge of Networking industry, products and protocols

Desired Skills:


•        Ability to configure, analyze and troubleshoot highly complex networks.


•        Proven crisis management skills, and the ability to excel under pressure.


•        Worked on complex problems where analysis of situations requires in-depth evaluation of factors.


•        Strong Layer 3 knowledge as this position will primarily focus on supporting Cisco’s Routing platforms.


•        Knowledge of routing system architecture and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex routing, switching and forwarding issues.


•        Strong documentation skills--to be utilized for case management, knowledge capture, defect management and trainings.


•        Excellent verbal communication skills--these skills are essential for this engineering role as most of the work being done is through the phone.


•        Very strong problem solving skills


•        Ability to drive recreates remotely--many issues result in the engineer needing to perform a recreate of the customer problem in order to isolate the issue and resolve.


•        Extensive Customer Service skills and experience.


•        Candidate must be CCNP or equivalent in one of these technologies: Security -- Experience in more than one of the four is a plus.


•        Candidate must demonstrate strong collaboration skills and be effective in working within a team environment. Knowledge sharing amongst the team members is paramount.

Preferable:

Knows SourceFire, ASA, VPN well
Good understanding of ISE

Schedule:
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule; after hours/Weekend on-call rotation is a requirement for this position. Intervals vary based on employee headcount and availability
