Required Minimum Experience:

•                 5+ years of project management experience in an information technology

•                 Experience in creating requirements, project plans, project schedules, and driving projects to key dates

•                 Experience managing Application Development and Infrastructure Optimization highly preferred

Required Skills:

•                 Proficient user of Project Management Tools (Microsoft Project, Portfolio Management, and SharePoint)

•                 MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)

•                 Good understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge “PMBOK” disciplines (Integration, Scope, Time, Quality, Human resources, Communications, Risk Management, and Procurement)

•                 Excellent verbal, writing and interpersonal skills


•                 Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred

Job Responsibilities:

Scope Management

•                 Documents and reviews the project scope and requirements at the beginning of the project

•                 Develops a work breakdown structure to communicate the scope to the project team

•                 Tracks the scope of the project throughout the project life-cycle

•                 Manages any scope change requests or scope creep

•                 Validates that all project requirements are accounted for in the planning and execution of the project

•                 Works with the project team to determine strategic impacts of the project and includes workflow and communication changes in the scope of the project

•                 Creates the proper project baselines to be able to track the timeline and resource impacts of any scope creep or scope changes 

Risk and Issue Management:

•                 Leads the project team to identify any risks to the projects including internal risks, external risks and environmental risks

•                 Documents, addresses and monitors project risks

•                 Manages the process to assess the potential impact and probability of the identified risks

•                 Determines with the project team and stakeholders the appropriate response action for identified risks and documents the action plans for the agreed upon response

•                 Identifies and documents project issues for the project team

•                 Develops action plans to address project issues including ownership assignment, due dates, vendor management and stakeholder communication

•                 Appropriately manages issue escalation through the project team chain of command and the ITS chain of command with assistance from direct management as needed

Resources Management:

•                 Engages the appropriate resource managers to determine the proper team resources needed for each project

•                 Negotiates the required resource hours and availability for all resources on the project team

•                 Proactively tracks the resource usage within each project and manages projected to actual hour’s variances with the resource managers

•                 Develops strong relationships with the project resources and resource managers to ensure cooperation when resource availability issues arise

•                 Manages project resources in a mostly virtual environment

•                 Performs all standard PMO time approval processes without issue in a timely manner

Project Communication:

•                 Provides complete and concise project communications to project team, stakeholders and executives

•                 Develops project communication plans that serve as a roadmap to drive project communications, problem escalations, decision making and executive summary

•                 Leads the project team to determine communications requirements outside of the project that are needed due to the impacts of the project to those outside the project team

•                 Utilizes appropriate communication styles to gain consent and avoid or diffuse conflict within the project teams

•                 Facilitates meetings involving senior leadership and/or project steering committee meetings for complex projects

•                 Engages in direct communication with project team members and stakeholders to develop strong relationships

•                 Creates meaningful and useful project status reports that include appropriate detail to describe the current state of the projects

Quality of Project Delivery:

•                 Proactively ensures that all project deliverables are completed on time and are aligned directly with the overall project requirements

•                 Monitors project stakeholder expectations to ensure that the project is addressing the needs of the project sponsor(s) and business owner(s)

•                 Ensures that the project testing methodology encompasses all of the project requirements

•                 Completes project documentation fully and at the appropriate time to provide direction for the project

•                 Creates complete project plans and adheres to the project baseline process in a timely manner

•                 All project documentation and deliverables are expected to be of high quality
