Key Differentiating Contributions
• Provides oversight on general ledger activities and final approval of journal entries.
• Anticipates issues that may arise within the Accounting Function in the short-term and develop solutions, sometimes without similar precedents.
• Capable of introducing new processes or systems and ensures GAAP compliance.
• Serves as a technical expert in US reporting to other functions.
• Interacts and influences peers across the Company functions to ensure successful project completion.

Specific Job Requirements
• Manage financial month-end close process; coordinate team efforts around the close schedule; and ensure that all required financial data is properly captured and reconciled.
• Manage monthly consolidations of worldwide entities.
• Responsible for monthly management reporting, preparing monthly management close package and monthly balance sheet flux analysis.
• Provides direction and coordination to professional and clerical staff within the department and cross-functionally.
• Responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month end close and accounting transactions; balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation & resolution; and financial analysis.
• Ensures financial records are in compliance with GAAP.
• Consistently maintains appropriate internal controls and upholds company policies & procedures including Worldwide Controllers manual.
• Interacts successfully with internal and external auditors and supports quarter end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely & accurate data and communication.

Knowledge & Skills
• Requires in-depth knowledge of general accounting policies and procedures and GAAP.
• Ability to successfully manage the work of financial personnel and interact effectively with non-financial personnel.
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle or equivalent is essential.
• Advanced Excel user required.
• Strong presentation skills are required.
• Proficient in writing desktop procedures and creating flowcharts.
• Significant experience in a multi-currency environment is required.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven and multi-tasking environment.

Minimum Experience
• 8+ years of relevant experience and BA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent.
• Previous supervisory experience.
Preferred Experience
• CPA / CMA qualification is preferred.
• Experience in multi-national organization a plus.
