GDH Consulting is seeking candidates for a Route/Switch Data Center Network Engineer position located in Montgomery, AL to act as a subject matter expert and advisor for R/S and Data Center Networking products and technologies.  This is an on-site position 5 days per week and travel from time to time to customer locations. 

Strong in typical NOS Routing and Switching deliverables as well as Data Center deliverables, in particular Design aspects of newer features and so on.

Details:

  • Need to have very strong MPLS skills as both customers act as their on service provider.
  • Strong Data Center/Nexus, ARS, ISR router platforms, Catalyst and Nexus switches required.

Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities includes both Data Center and Network expertise:

  • Provide expert guidance to the customer teams in building & maintaining Data Center with a focus on network infrastructure and SDN (Application Centric Infrastructure)
  • Help drive data center implementations positioning the Data Center Architectures to solve our customer business challenges
  • Work closely with the Regional Data Center Solutions Architect to create and execute on a business plan to implement customer’s data center requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer/Electronics Engineering or Computer Science with at least 3 years’ experience in an enterprise-wide organization.
  • Experienced in developing/supporting Windows Server 2012/2008R2 within medium-to-large enterprise-wide infrastructures. Including installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of O/S.
  • Familiar with other Windows-based management software will be an advantage.
  • Experience with other operating systems, e.g. Oracle Linux or Solaris.
  • Knowledge of Inter networking protocol, especially TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of Cisco routers and switches.
  • Knowledge of Cisco internetworking design.
  • Good communication skills in English language.
  • Able to learn new knowledge and skills outside of a structured training course.
  • Able to work independently as well as a good team player in a flexible working-hours. environment
  • Analytical thinker and problem resolver.
  • Train and assist customer staff and engineer in wireless technologies.
  • Maintain knowledge on wireless network products.
  • Determine client requirement and execute all wireless projects for clients.
  • Performed audit in wireless site and ensure viability with network and recommend solutions for incompatibility.
  • Monitor efficient installation of product at customer site and ensure efficiency of various engineering work.
  • Ability to upgrade data network equipment to latest stable firmware releases.
  • Ability to configure the routing and switching equipment, and the configuration of hosted IP voice services along with the basic configuration of firewalls.
