Job Description

GDH Consulting is looking for an Applications Engineer that will assist in quotations for a fluid controls system for end customers.

The purpose of this job is to develop engineering designs for mechanical seal support equipment and associated technologies to meet customer requirements. This job requires the use of engineering judgment, and the application of standard engineering techniques to develop designs for customers’ use.  Focus is on the proper develop of designs and standards for the use of in a variety of applications for application quotations for fluid control systems. Systems experience of relevant industry standards API 682, API 614, B31.3, ASME VIII etc. is required.


•       Evaluate customer requirements including customer specifications, research the necessary data and determine cost effective materials of construction and appropriate lead time for the fluid control system.

•       Prepare quotation documents in alignment with customer requirements ensuring all customer requirements are addressed.

•       Communicate orally and in writing with customers, sales and company personnel providing counseling, recommendations and technical assistance.

•       Provide guidance to salesman and customers to complete the application for each seal support system.

•       Analyze designs and component part design, making recommendations for changes to the customer.

•       Additional duties and responsibilities will vary based upon departmental needs.

•       Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.

•       Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations.

•       Additional duties as assigned.


•       Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience.

•       Working experience of relevant industry standards (API 682, API 614, B31.3, ASME VIII etc.).

•       Minimum 5-10 years’ experience to include engineering design, instrumentation, manufacturing methods, and to obtain sufficient knowledge and background to assume senior responsibilities involved. 

•       Working experience within the Oil and Gas industry with experience or familiarity with API mechanical seal piping plans preferred. 

•       Must be hands-on, highly motivated and energetic team player.

•       Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.

•       Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

•       Extremely high attention to detail.

•       Effective written and verbal communication skills.
